S5 surfactant/Geropon T-77

Braveds
Overview

Geropon T-77 is a high-performance anionic dispersant based on Taurine-Triazine technology with an active ingredient content of 67%. Its unique molecular structure gives it strong wettability, dispersion stability and compatibility with a variety of systems. It is mainly used in in vitro diagnostic reagents to stabilize colloidal particles, optimize the reaction interface and improve the uniformity of reagents, especially for the detection system of high solid content or complex matrix samples.

Action mechanism

High efficiency dispersion: Through the synergistic effect of electrostatic repulsion and steric hindrance, latex/colloidal gold particles are prevented from gathering and signal stability is guaranteed (such as immunoturbidimetry).

Ultra-wettability: rapidly reduce the liquid-solid interfacial tension, and promote the uniform penetration and spread of reagents on hydrophobic surfaces (such as cellulose nitrate film and plastic microporous plates).

High solid content compatibility: Tolerates high concentrations of particles or biomolecules (such as whole blood, mucus samples), reduces matrix interference, and improves detection accuracy.

Wide pH stability: in the pH 3-10 range to maintain activity, suitable for acidic or alkaline reaction systems (such as lysate, washing buffer).

Compatibility: Combined with anionic/non-ionic surfactants (such as AOS, Tween 20), synergistic optimization of dispersion and wettability.

Application scenario

Latex enhanced immune turbidimetry: Pre-mixed in latex microsphere suspension to prevent particle aggregation through electrostatic repulsion and improve turbidity signal uniformity (e.g. CRP detection).

Colloidal gold marker stability: added to colloidal gold resolution, reduce the accumulation of gold particles, enhance the chromatographic test strip color consistency (such as hCG detection).

High viscosity sample processing: Adding mucus/whole blood diluents to reduce sample viscosity and facilitate the release of target analytes (e.g. respiratory pathogen detection).

Microfluidic chip wetting agent: applied to hydrophobic microchannels to optimize blood/reagent flow performance and avoid cell blockage or bubble retention.

Solid phase carrier pretreatment: Used for nitrocellulose membrane/microporous plate pretreatment, enhance hydrophilicity, reduce non-specific adsorption.

General use range: 0.01%-0.5% (according to the active ingredient, need to be converted to the actual added amount according to 67% content).

Matters needing attention

Active ingredient conversion: the active ingredient in the product is 67%, which should be converted according to the proportion when preparing (for example, when 0.15% of the active ingredient is added, the actual weighing of 0.15% / 0.67 ≈ 0.224% of the product).

Storage conditions: Strong hygroscopicity, need desiccant protection after opening.

Compatibility test: Avoid direct mixing with cationic surfactants (e.g. CTAB) or high concentrations of polyvalent ions (e.g. Ca² +, Mg² +), which may produce precipitation.

When combined with enzymes, the activity retention rate should be verified (recommended concentration ≤0.1%).

Q&A

Emulsion particle aggregation: may be insufficient concentration or ionic strength is too high; It is recommended to increase to 0.1-0.2%, or reduce the buffer salt concentration.

Uneven chromatographic velocity: it may be due to insufficient wettability or improper membrane pretreatment; Optimized concentration (0.05%-0.1%) or pre-coated Geropon T-77 solution is recommended.

Elevated detection background: may be insufficiently eluted surfactant residue; It is recommended to increase the number of washing times (such as washing the board 5-6 times in ELISA).

Reagent turbidity: may react with cationic components; It is recommended to replace it with a neutral/anionic buffer system (such as Tris-HCl).
