Non-hemolytic, enzyme compatible, low foaming, good wetting agent, in addition to emulsifying, stabilizing and dispersing effects.

Its surface modification properties can be used to reduce surface tension and increase absorption and permeability. AERLSOL OT also has partial antistatic and softening functions.

AEROSOL OT surfactants can be stored and used in most containers or reactors. Stainless steel, aluminum and manganese-nickel alloys are recommended as reaction and storage vessels; Glass and rubber are suitable as lining materials.

Because evaporation of water and ethanol can cause gels, containers containing AEROSOL OT should be kept closed when not in use. If gel occurs, add a small amount of ethanol (1-2% of the weight of the surfactant) and roll the barrel until the gel is gone.

AEROSOL OT's activity does not change because of freeze-thaw. If freeze-thaw occurs, it is recommended to stir thoroughly before use.

This surfactant is essential for the stability of TMB. TMB is an oxidizing indicator, which can be easily peroxidized to brown and can be seen by both vision and instrument. Aerosol OT can be added to stop the TMB oxidation process and turn dark blue. This is a complex formed by Aerosol OT and TMB through coordination. This complex is in the highest oxidation state, so the TMB is very stable at this time. Aerosol OT/TMB systems are soluble in organic solvents such as toluene. It is also soluble in aqueous solutions, for example MTB-HCL will act as an indicator form.
