S2 surfactant/Kolliphor P188/Pluronic F-68/Poloxamer 188

S2 surfactant, also known as Kolliphor P188/Pluronic F-68/Poloxamer 188, is a block copolymer of polyoxyethylene and polyoxypropylene. It is a Nonionic surfactant and a new type of medicinal excipients.

Appearance: White to yellowish waxy particles or powder.

Ph (2.5% solution): 6.0-7.5.

Molecular weight (calculated by hydroxyl yesterday): 7680 ~ 9510.

It is soluble in ethanol and water (the solution has milky light), but insoluble in ether, paraffin oil and fatty oil.

Main functions: thickeners, emulsifiers, wetting agents, foaming agents and defoamers, can also be used in non-gastrointestinal prescriptions. Its solubilization does not depend on the formation of micelles. This product can also be used as dispersant and wetting agent to prepare solid dispersant to improve the solubility, absorbance and bioavailability of insoluble active substances in solid oral agent. It can also be used as a co-emulsifier for creams and emulsifiers, a stabilizer for suspensions and a lubricant for tablets.
