Application.
Tris is used to configure a buffer solution with pH between 7.5 and 8.5. Tris buffers are widely used in cellular and molecular biology for the extraction and purification of proteins and nucleic acids. When in use, dilute the TRIS glycine buffer solution and 10x concentrated solution to the working concentration of 1x and adjust pH as needed. TRIS glycine buffer (TGB) is commonly used in gel electrophoresis and ion exchange chromatography.
