General description.
Chemical structure: aminoglycosides.

Application.
Neomycin sulfate is produced by Streptomyces and contains at least 85% neomycin. It is used to transfer the prokaryotic cell selector labeled with neomycin to study the ototoxicity of antioxidants, the response of platelet-derived growth factor in some fibroblasts and the extraction of nuclear phosphatidylinositol 4-diphosphate interaction protein. The recommended concentration for cell culture is 50mg/L.

Warning.
The stored solution should be filtered and sterilized and stored at 2-8 ℃ and stably stored at 37 ℃ for 5 days. 1mg/mL neomycin solution (soluble in 1m phosphate buffer) should be used within 14 days when stored at pH8.0,0-5 ℃. The solution should avoid light and dampness.

Points for attention in preparation.
Neomycin sulfide 50mg/ml was dissolved in H2O to obtain a clear solution.

Other considerations.
Keep the container sealed and store in a dry, well-ventilated place. Keep it dry.

Biochemical / physiological behavior.
Mode of action: by combining with 30s and 50s subunits, the product causes miscoding and inhibits the initiation and prolongation of protein synthesis. Neomycin can also block the voltage-sensitive Ca2+ channel without affecting the Na+/Ca2+ antiporter in neurons.

Antibacterial spectrum: neomycin can act on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
