Cancer antigen 15-3 is a glycoprotein whose antigenic determinant is partly sugar and part polypeptide. The level of CA15-3 in the serum of patients with breast cancer is significantly increased, so it plays an important role in the diagnosis of breast cancer, but its specificity is limited.
