Prealbumin, human Plasma (PA)

Aseptic state, dissolved in 0.01mol/L phosphate buffer, PH7.4, containing 0.14mol/L sodium chloride. No preservatives.

Prealbumin (Prealbumin, PA), also known as transthyroxine protein (transthyretin), is synthesized by hepatocytes with a molecular weight of 54000. When it is separated by electrophoresis, it is often shown in front of albumin. Its half-life is very short, only about 1.9 days. Therefore, the determination of its concentration in plasma is more sensitive to protein malnutrition, liver insufficiency, albumin and transferrin.
