General information
Function Triiodothyronine is a type of thyroid hormone abbreviated T3. Triiodothyronine
can be divided into TT3 and FT3 due to its different binding state to protein.
Serum TT3 concentration reflects the effect of thyroid on peripheral tissues, and
is an important index for identifying early hyperthyroidism and monitoring
recurrent hyperthyroidism. FT3 is not affected by thyroid hormone binding
protein, and directly reflects thyroid function. Its sensitivity and specificity are
significantly higher than those of TT3.
