General description.
Chemical structure: aminoglycosides.
Application.
It is suggested that the amount of 100mg/L should be used in cell culture. The storage solution should be aseptically filtered and stored at 2-8 °C for up to one month or for a long time at-20 °C. The solution can be stable for 3 days at 37 °C.
Biochemical / physiological behavior.
Mode of action: inhibition of prokaryotic protein synthesis. Binding to the S12 protein of the 30s ribosomal subunit prevents the transition from the initial complex to the chain extension ribosome, causing miscoding or inhibiting initiation. Mode of resistance: mutations in rpsL (the S12 ribosomal protein gene) prevent streptomycin from binding to ribosomes. Aminoglycoside phosphotransferases can also inactivate them. Antibacterial spectrum: gram-negative bacteria and gram-positive bacteria.
Points for attention in preparation.
The storage solution should be prepared directly in the vial with aseptic water with a concentration of 20-25mg / mL.
Other considerations.
Keep the container sealed and store in a dry and ventilated place.
