Analysis consideration.
RZ (purity value / Reinheitszahl) is the absorbance A403 / A275 ratio determined by 0.5-1.0mg / ml in deionized water. It is a measure of heme content, not enzyme activity. Even preparations with high RZ may have low enzyme activity.

Unit definition.
One unit can form 1.0mg red gallol from pyrogallol at 20 ℃ and pH6.0 for 20 seconds.

General description.
Horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is isolated from horseradish (Amoracia rusticana) and belongs to the ferrous protoporphyrin group of peroxidase. HRP is a single-chain polypeptide with four disulfide bonds. It is a glycoprotein with 18% sugar content. According to specific isozymes, the sugar composition consists of galactose, arabinose, xylose, trehalose, mannose, mannose and galactosamine. Its molecular weight (~ 44kDa) includes polypeptide chain (33890 Dalton), hemoglobin plus Ca2 + (~ 700Dalton) and carbohydrate (~ 9400 Dalton). There are at least seven HRP isozymes. The isoelectric point range of horseradish peroxidase isozyme is 3.0-9.0.
