General description.
2-(N-morpholinyl) ethanesulfonic acid (MES) is a commonly used "Good" buffer in biology and biochemistry, which has some important characteristics in common, including: 1) low UV (≥ 260 nm) absorbance; 2) strong water solubility; 3) pKa is in a neutral range and is not easily affected by temperature; 4) pH value is stable; 5) small interference reaction; MES will not penetrate the cell membrane and the effect of salt ion introduction is low.
