MES

General description.
MES is one of the most widely used biological buffers-Good's buffers. MES is an amphoteric ion N-substituted aminosulfonic acid with morpholine ring. This ingredient does not form complexes with most of the metals used in environmental and biological research. It is soluble in water but extremely insoluble in lipids, so it cannot pass through the membrane.

Application.
MES has been used as an elution buffer component to elute plasma from a 2-macroglobulin affinity column. In the process of binding antibodies to particles, this component is used as an activation buffer. In the process of creating a microfluidic integrated surface isolator resonance (SPR) platform for pathogen detection, MES can be used for microchannel functionalization.
