Biochemical / physiological behavior.
Mode of action: gentamicin binds to 30s ribosomal subunit, which causes codon misreading and hinders the transfer of peptidyl transferase from donor site to receptor site. The germicidal effect of gentamicin on Pseudomonas aeruginosa is achieved through the combination of gentamicin and outer membrane to replace natural cations, making the membrane unstable and forming pores on the cell surface.
Application.
Gentamicin sulfate is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used as a selector (gentamicin resistance gene) in cell culture and molecular biology. It is recommended that the product be used at a concentration of 50 mg / L.
module.
Gentamicin is an aminoglycoside compound produced by Micromonospora crimson (Micromonospora purpurea) or Micromonospora echinospora (M. echinospora). It can be used as a sulfate. There are three components per molar of gentamicin, each containing five parts of basic nitrogen and five parts of sulfuric acid.
