Application.
Adenine is suitable for: 1) as a component of boron-deficient medium, it is used to culture yeast to evaluate whether its growth is stimulated by boron. 2) as a food supplement for adult rats, the effect of adenine overload in diet was studied. 3) as a nucleic acid base supplement in the basic medium, it was used in the basic medium for the culture of anaerobic Bacillus and Bacillus subtilis. The study showed that the anaerobic growth of these bacteria needed DNA or deoxynucleoside. 4) as an additive, the effects of adenine on CH4 production and fermentation in rumen culture of non-lactating Holstein cows were studied. 5) as part of adenine diet in rats, it was used to identify blood markers in the early stage of adenine-induced chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Biochemical / physiological behavior.
Adenine is a kind of purine nucleoside, which has a wide range of chemical and biochemical functions in vivo and in vitro. It is a regulatory molecule and is a component of DNA,RNA, NAD,FAD and cAMP. Adenine forms adenosine with ribose, and nucleic acid forms AMP,ADP or ATP according to the degree of phosphorylation. ATP is involved in the energy transfer in the process of cell metabolism.
