Overview
Biochemical / physiological behavior.
NADH is a coenzyme that plays a role in the regeneration of electron donors during glycolysis, oxidation and citric acid cycle (Krebs cycle, TCA cycle). It is also involved in cellular signaling events, such as acting as a substrate for poly (ADP- ribose) polymerase (PARPs) in the DNA damage response. NAD+/NADH-dependent deacetylase plays a key role in stress response in energy metabolism and plays an important role in cancer biology, diabetes and neurodegenerative diseases. As a reagent, NADH can be used for enzyme cycle determination to expand the detection of the activity of low concentration of bio-related enzymes or metabolites.
Application.
β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) and β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide reduction (NADH) contain coenzyme redox pairs (NAD+:NADH) involved in a wide range of enzyme-catalyzed redox reactions. In addition to its redox function, NAD+/ NADH is the donor of ADP- ribose unit in ADP- ribose transferase (ADP- ribose transferase; poly (ADP- ribose) polymerase) and the precursor of cyclic ADP- ribose (ADP- ribose cyclase).
