Biochemical / physiological behavior.
Antifungal Polyene macrolide that specifically binds to ergosterol and prevents fungal growth. But unlike nystatin and nystatin, atramycin does not change the permeability of the plasma membrane.
Application.
Pimaricin, also known as pimasamycin, natamycin or natamycin (Natamycin), is an amphoteric antibiotic from Streptomyces Chattanooga. Used for all kinds of fungal infections, mainly local infections. As a combination of ergosterol and cholesterol, it is used to study the kinetics of lipid bilayers, especially in fungal cells. Chloramphenicol is used as a fungicide in Agar medium. It can be used to study the regulation system of multi-effect regulators AdpAch and γ-butyrolactone on Streptomyces.
General description.
Chemical structure: macrolide.
Other considerations.
Keep it in a dry and ventilated place and keep the container airtight. Recommended storage temperature: 2-8 ℃, photosensitive.
