Application.
Penicillin G sodium salt is a narrow-band natural antibiotic. It is effective against Streptococcus pneumoniae, group A, B, C and G streptococci, non-enterococci group D streptococci, grass green streptococci and non-penicillinase-producing staphylococci. It has been used to study the significance of reducing penicillin sensitivity and using alone and in combination with streptomycin and other antibiotics in the diagnosis and treatment of gentamicin resistant sequence type 6 Enterococcus faecalis.
Warning.
The solution should be filtered and sterilized and stored at 2-8 °C for 1 week or longer at-20 °C. The solution can be stable for 3 days at 37 °C. The solubility of sodium salt in water is 100 mg/mL.
Biochemical / physiological behavior.
Mode of action: penicillin G inhibits cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin binding protein (PBP) and inhibiting peptide polysaccharide chain cross-linking. Antibacterial spectrum: gram-positive bacteria.
