Application.
Methylcellulose has been used in colony formation tests, in sperm motility evaluation, in the formation of globules, and in preparation of Agar beads.

Biochemical / physiological behavior.
Methylcellulose regulates the stabilization of mixtures of oil, water and air, such as foams, by emulsification. Methyl cellulose is used as an adhesive and thickener for various adhesives. It is also used as a treatment for constipation.

General description.
Methyl cellulose is a kind of water-soluble Nonionic polymer with hydrophilic glycosidic bond, which is derived from polysaccharide cellulose.
