General description.
1-thioglycerol promotes the synthesis of porphyrin in aerobic Escherichia coli. This is an inhibitor of glycerol kinase activity in vitro and in situ.
Application.
1-thioglycerol was used in one study to evaluate the aqueous phase growth of manipulated CdTe nanocrystals. It is also used in a study to study the effect of surface adhesion on ligand binding.
Points for attention in preparation.
This product is miscible in ethanol (1ml/ml, 50% focus v / w) to get a colorless transparent solution. It is also miscible in water (0.1m).
