General description.
N-hexanol is a straight-chain primary alcohol. It forms intermediates in the catalytic conversion of cellulose. The ability of TMG to capture carbon dioxide in n-hexanol solvent system has been evaluated. The solubility of light fullerenes in n-hexanol as a function of temperature and pressure has been studied. N-hexanol is made from coconut oil and palm oil. It can be used in the production of preservatives, flavors and perfumes. N-hexanol is also used as a solvent in plasticizer production.
Application.
N-hexanol has been used as an odor agent to study olfactory reaction and dilute poly (4-vinylphenol) (PVP) dielectric layer.
