Biochemical / physiological behavior.
The main estrogen secreted by the premenopausal ovary. Estrogen guides the development of female phenotype by regulating gene transcription and therefore protein synthesis during embryogenesis and puberty. It can also induce gonadotropin production and then ovulation. Exposure to estradiol will increase the incidence of breast cancer and increase proliferation.
Physical form.
Powdered at room temperature; frozen in small portions to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
reconstruction.
In order to prepare 20 ug/ml reserve solution, 1ml absolute ethanol was added to 1mg β-estradiol, gently shaken and dissolved, and 49ml aseptic medium was added at the same time of mixing.
Application.
β-estradiol can be used to study cell differentiation and transformation (tumorigenesis).
