Biochemical / physiological behavior.
Etoposide is an anti-tumor agent, which can be combined with topoisomerase II and DNA to enhance double-strand and single-strand cleavage of DNA and reversibly inhibit rearrangement. Block the cell cycle in S phase and G2 phase of the cell cycle; induce apoptosis in normal and tumor cells; inhibit the synthesis of oncoprotein Mdm2 and induce apoptosis in tumor cell lines that overexpress Mdm2.
