Application.
DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) is a highly polar, non-proton organic solvent, which has many applications in organic chemistry and molecular biology. DMSO is commonly used in polymerase chain reaction (PCR); cDNA library amplification; DNA sequencing; column-like buffers for poly (A) + RNA selection; and buffers for competent E. coli transformation and transfection experiments.
