Cyclophosphamide is a cytotoxic nitrogen mustard derivative widely used in cancer chemotherapy. It cross-connects DNA, causing strand breaks and inducing mutations. Its clinical activity is related to the decrease of acetaldehyde dehydrogenase 1 (ALDH1) activity.
