General description.
Cantharidin is a toxic foaming agent produced by Mylabris. It is used to treat hemorrhoids, ulcers, poisonous worms and convulsive skin tuberculosis. It can be used as an aphrodisiac, an abortion drug and a veterinary diuretic.
Application.
Cantharidin has been used to inhibit protein phosphatase 2 (PP2A).
