Bacitracin is used to study the destruction of bacterial cell wall synthesis at the level of peptidoglycan cross-linking and isopeptide metabolism.

Bacitracin is a peptide antibiotic. Antibacterial spectrum: gram-positive bacteria. Mode of action: inhibit the synthesis of bacterial cell wall by inhibiting the dephosphorylation of lipid pyrophosphate.
